September was another busy month for the Courtney Family, but it has also been a lot of fun! We celebrated our sixth wedding anniversary on the 27th, Happy Anniversary to us! It's been a whirlwind and hard to belive how much has happened in our lives during this time - turning 30, building a house, having a baby, having another baby, getting laid off, Sharon finishing her first triathlon, Chris signing up for an Iron Man...what a ride it's been so far. Marriage and parenthood combined have proven to be a challenge at times, yet we would not have it any other way - we are truly blessed.
Ava is happy to be back in school and has also doing her second session of Mommy & Me ballet. It’s amazing how more attentive she is this time round than she was last time, what a difference seven months can make! Graham is trying his hardest to keep up with Ava, and doing a pretty good job of it. He’s also trying to communicate more through his series of grunts and groans! While he has “Dada” and “Daddy” down pat, we are still working on “mama”…he has said it a few times, which was good enough for me. He is showing more signs of affection lately as well. In fact, the other night after work, he walked right up to me and just hugged me around my legs. Ava wanted to join in, so I got my first “both kids around the legs” hug – it was the most wonderful part of my day!

Ava's tid bits:
- got ice cream from ice cream truck
- started preschool ( five days a week, three hours a day)
- made s'mores
- loves playing tag and Duck Duck Goose
- teaches Graham her yoga poses learned at school
Graham's tid bits:
- pulls the teeth guard rails off of his crib every morning
- will repeat sounds to you, trying to communicate
- says Dada, Daddy, No, Uh Oh
- back teeth are coming in
- tries to put puzzle pieces into puzzles
- has learned how to climb onto couch & chairs, and is SO proud of himself when he does it!
- loves to throw himself backwards when being held on the couch, it's a game for him!
Every day is another discovery for the kids, and in turn for us!
